Dovizioso: It’s not easy to ride a motorcycle ‘full’ after such a long pause

“It’s not easy to ride a full-on motoGP motorcycle after such a long time. We’ve never rested for so long. It’s going to be hard to get back,” said current top MotoGP backer Andre Dovizios, one of those racers who felt the worst of the pandemic coronavirus, since he resides in Italy, and due to quarantine, he was unable to see his daughter for a long time.

“MotoGP racers are simply not used to such long breaks,” Italian Ducati racer Andrea Dovizioso told GPOne.com. “Physically, it’s going to be tough for everyone, it’s going to be hard for a racer to be ready to drive a motoGP class the right way, so that racer who best manages to meet that challenge will make a difference,” Dovi agreed. An experienced Italian racer warns that it will not only be difficult for the racers to be physically injured, but the ‘psyche’ will also suffer. “It will not be easy psychologically, but it will also depend on when we can return to the tracks at all. This is something we cannot predict right now,” the Italian racer warned.

One possibility is that Dorna will introduce additional testing before the start of the motoGP season due to such a big break, so that competitors can get used to speed again. The question, however, is whether the calendar will allow this, which, if the season starts at all, will be very crowded. However, it is already more or less clear that there will be far fewer races scheduled than originally planned.

The motoGP (2020) season has not even begun after the coronavirus pandemic erupted. The racers did all the pre-season testing, but only the moto2 and moto3 racers competed at the March Qatar GP.
