Last weekend, Bayern Munich won the German national title for the sixth consecutive time. It closed the accounts even five days before the conclusion of the 2017-2018 Bundesliga. A few months ago, when many players were lined up against Carlo Ancelotti, this goal was not so obvious. After the exoneration of the Italian coach and the return of Jupp Heynckes, Bayern Monaco has started to show off the amazing performance of the previous seasons.
How is Sevilla
The Sevilla, however, comes from a bad weekend, during which he lost 4-0 against Celta Vigo. It was yet another defeat of large proportions cashed in the Liga by the Andalusian line, since Vincenzo Montella arrived on the bench. In the other competitions, however, the former coach of Rome, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Milan managed to lead their current team towards good results. The access to the final of the Copa del Rey – scheduled for April 21 against Barcelona – is an important milestone, just as the qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, however, obtained at the expense of a great football power like Manchester United, eliminated in the second round.
Bayern Munich also had some problems in front of Sevilla, capable of unlocking the challenge on April 3rd with a goal by Pablo Sarabia, before an Israeli Navas goal and a Thiago Alcantara goal reversed the situation.
Strong of the 2-1 of the first leg, the champions of Germany will face with greater confidence the return match, during which they will have the opportunity to play at home and will probably be able to show off from the first minutes, on the contrary of what happened in Spain, where they initially struggled. Sevilla should score at least one goal, because he relies on very proactive football and has good individualities from midfield upwards. Overall, however, Bayern Monaco looks decidedly favored: the play of Franck Ribery, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller, combined with those of the aforementioned Thiago Alcantara and James Rodriguez, could be fatal to a team devoted to attack, often inadequate in the defensive phase and waiting for a very complicated trip.
For Sevilla, the sensational undertaking against Manchester United will not be easily repeated.
